The Douro Valley is one of the oldest demarcated wine regions in the world, where the river runs between terraced vineyards. It lies inland from Porto, in northern Portugal.

How we visit the Douro Valley
The Douro Valley is around 310 km from Lisbon, so it is normally visited together with Porto rather than as a day trip from the capital. Our Porto and Douro Valley private tour runs from Lisbon and combines the city of Porto with the Douro river and a wine quinta.
If you are already in Porto, the Douro Valley can also be arranged as a separate private itinerary. Multi-day and custom itineraries across the region are available on request.
What the Porto and Douro tour includes
Hotel pick-up in Lisbon, a private vehicle for your group, a driver-guide, the Douro river cruise and the visit to a wine quinta are included as described on the tour page. Meals and other tickets are not included unless stated.
Getting to Porto and the Douro
