Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré and Óbidos lie north of Lisbon and are visited on the same day: a place of pilgrimage, a Gothic monastery listed by UNESCO, a fishing town facing the biggest waves ever surfed, and a medieval village still contained within its walls.
This is a private tour. The van is reserved for your group alone and the pace is yours — you decide how long to spend at the Sanctuary, at the monastery, at the Nazaré viewpoint and inside the walls of Óbidos.
What you will visit on this day

What the private tour includes
The day covers the Sanctuary of Fátima, the Monastery of Batalha, the Sítio viewpoint in Nazaré and the walled village of Óbidos. It includes a van reserved exclusively for your group, a local driver-guide, free Wi-Fi on board, a flexible rhythm at the Sanctuary of Fátima and the Ginja de Óbidos tasting in a chocolate cup for your group.
Admission to the Monastery of Batalha is not included — tickets are purchased on site.
Lunch is not included. In Nazaré there is free time at the Sítio viewpoint, where you can eat fresh fish by the sea at your own pace.
The day usually runs 9 to 12 hours, depending on how long you choose to spend at each stop.
Fátima at your own pace
The Sanctuary of Fátima is a place of pilgrimage rather than a monument, and it is visited on foot. Because the tour is private, you can attend a mass, light a candle or visit the houses of the Shepherd Children without a fixed schedule.
The Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary and the Chapel of the Apparitions are open to visitors, and no entrance ticket is required for the sanctuary itself.
Batalha and its monastery
Batalha grew around the Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória, founded after the battle of Aljubarrota in 1385 and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is one of the great Gothic and Manueline buildings in Portugal.
The visit is made on foot and includes the Founder’s Chapel, where King João I and Queen Philippa are buried, and the Unfinished Chapels. Admission to the monastery is not included in the tour price and is purchased on site.
Nazaré and Óbidos
Nazaré is a fishing town on the Atlantic coast, with the Sítio viewpoint on the clifftop above it — the place from which the giant winter waves are watched. The old town keeps its fishing traditions and the seafront where the boats are still pulled up onto the sand.
Óbidos is a medieval village still contained within its walls. You can walk the streets inside, climb part of the wall, and taste the traditional Ginja liqueur served in a small chocolate cup — included for your group.
